Kintsugi (joined with gold) is the Japanese art form of reforging broken pottery back together, and inlaying the reformed cracks with gold or silver lacquer, in order to strengthen and highlight the previously broken areas.
For Brandon Padier and his latest album of the same name (the first fully recorded with his band Black Gold), Kintsugi refers to a rebirth, getting back up off the ground, learning, growing and becoming stronger and more beautiful from the things that knocked you down in the first place.
